Dreadsquad’s output has been prolific but always full of quality. To
date, they have released four mixtapes and two albums, in 2005 and
2009, and nine singles between 2009 and 2012, covering an array of
genres through both the original tracks and the remixes, cooperating
with Reggae and Hip Hop artists from all over the World. As well as
performing hundreds of gigs in Poland, they have also played all
around Europe and North America.

Early 2012 kicks off with yet a new release, delivering nothing but
top quality with 16 tunes as varied as they come! Indeed, The Riddim
Machine is as colorful as you may expect it from the lineup of the
featured artistes:

True blue Jamaicans such as the “Deejay Daddy” U Brown, Ward 21,
Perfect Giddimani and Scarra Mucci are as well representing as
Germany’s Ska and Dancehall veteran Dr. Ring Ding, the Britain based
Lady Chann, El Fata, Tenor Fly and Blackout, and Kasia Malenda,
Poland’s answer to Adele and Amy Winehouse – to name but a few.
You will find a dynamic mix of authentic Jamaican riddims and styles
with modern bass-heavy genres from a producer at the top of his game –
a variety that spans from old school Ska to the digital computerized
style of the eighties and from heavy electronic Dub to rootsy Rock
Steady.
On top of that, Dreadsquad shows off amazing remixing skills –
foremost in the atmospheric dubby reworking of the infamous Polish
‘suicide tango’ To Ostatnia Niedziela, using the vocals of the
original 1936 recording by Mieczysław Fogg.

The Dreadsquad sound is always lively and full of energy, making you
want to hit the dance floor and have fun – music is their life and
their passion, and you can hear that in the music.

The Riddim Machine is released on digital, vinyl and CD formats on
10/03/2012 through the Superfly Studio label.

Feedback:

Dreadsquad is one of my favorite reggae/dancehall producer at the
moment and with a top line-up of vocalist he’s coming with a massive
album. With track like “Money Ah Dem God feat. Lady Chann” and riddims
like the MT-41, Question Riddim, Sleng Teng International Riddim you
can go no wrong!

2012 kicks off with a fresh selection on Superfly Studio.

DJ/Producer duo Dreadsquad have made themself a name for progressive sounds in a variety of styles, such as Dancehall, Dub, Ska and Reggae combined with heavy bass and electronic influences, yet always with a lot of conscience about the history of this music.

This new production, the MT-41 riddim, was made entirely from sounds of the famous Casio Casiotone MT-41 keyboard (whose brother, the MT-40, provided the sounds for the legendary “Sleng Teng” riddim in 1985). This way, it revives the spirit of the origins of computerized Dancehall.

Dreadsquad has combined it with a variety of artists from all over the world – on this selection, you will find versions by: El Fata (Nigeria / UK), Skarra Mucci (JA), Dr. Ring Ding (DE), Doubla J (Costa Rica / DE), Prophet Z (USA) and Ranking Diximal (FR)

Well schooled in reggae music from an early age by her soundman father, the rhythms of Studio One, Trojan and Treasure Isle soundtracked her childhood. Chanelle’s mother recognised her keen musical interest from an early age and encouraged her to take up piano, flute, trombone, french horn and even the drums, alongside the singing lessons that set her on the path.

Fast forward to 2009 and Chann has been deep in the studio with some of the UK’s hottest producers, working on tracks for her debut album. She worked with South Rakkas, Todla T, Warrior One and Sticky.

Live, Lady Chann is a force to be reckoned with. Having served her apprenticeship as part London’s premier dancehall crew she is a true microphone controller, her husky voice and trademark flow setting her apart from the pack, and tearing up the hottest clubs across the UK and beyond.

“Dreadsquad brings some nice vibes to the dancefloor with this fresh remake of answer riddim and the collaboration of Ward21 making an ode to the reggae musicality. Well done production by Dreadsquad and remixes by many guests keep the same level.”
