Superfly Studio proudly presents its milestone 50th release – the single Fool For Love. The track is produced and composed by Marek Bogdański, better known as Dreadsquad, with vocals and lyrics by Dub Princess – a charismatic singer born in Northern England, known for her mesmerizing voice.

Fool For Love is the vocal version of Ethiopian Rhythm, originally featured on Dreadsquad’s album Reggae From The Desert, released in December 2024. The recording features a stellar lineup of musicians: Piotr Zabrodzki on piano and Hammond organ, Kubix on guitar, Alex Hazas on horns, Adam “Bzyq” Brzęczek on drums, and Marek Bogdański himself handling bass, arrangement, mixing, dubbing, and mastering.

This is the third collaborative single from Dreadsquad and Dub Princess, following their earlier tracks Too Much Juggling and No Walls. The song also serves as a preview of their upcoming joint album, scheduled for release next year.

The single has just been sent to the pressing plant and will be released as a limited edition 7-inch lilac vinyl – a must-have for collectors and lovers of analog sound.

Dreadsquad – Dub Stems vol. 1 – Ethiopian Rhythm

A unique blend of reggae, dub, and ethiojazz – now at your fingertips. The first official stem pack from Dreadsquad offers a rare chance to dive into the original multitracks of “Ethiopian Rhythm”, taken from the instrumental album “Reggae from the Desert“, released in December 2024.

Built around the enchanting Tizita minor scale from Ethiopia, this composition fuses the soulful heartbeat of Jamaican reggae and dub with the rich harmonic textures of ethiojazz – resulting in a truly distinctive sound.

Included in this pack are 14 high-quality WAV stems (24-bit):

USER LICENSE – DREADSQUAD DUB STEMS
1. General Information
“Dreadsquad – Dub Stems” is a collection of high-quality WAV audio files (24-bit), provided for educational and creative non-commercial use.
2. Permitted Use
The user is allowed to:
• Create their own dub versions using the provided stems in a home studio environment or during live performances.
• Share these new dub versions on social media platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and SoundCloud), as long as no monetization is involved.
• Showcase their creative work publicly, provided the terms of this license are respected.
3. Prohibited Use
The user is not allowed to:
• Monetize any work created using the stems (e.g., selling tracks, streaming with ads, using in commercial projects).
• Use the stems – in whole or in part – to create new original compositions (e.g., new songs, beats, productions).
• Distribute, resell, share, or otherwise redistribute the stems, whether in original or modified form.
• Use the stems for coercive, offensive, misleading, or unlawful purposes.
4. Copyright
All copyrights to the original stems remain the sole property of their creators – Dreadsquad.
When sharing any work based on these stems, the user must give proper credit, such as:
“Dub version based on stems by Dreadsquad”
5. Final Provisions

After a seven-year hiatus, Dreadsquad is back with a new album that immerses listeners in a unique blend of dub, jazz, ethio-jazz, and classic reggae sounds. Reggae from the Desert is a sonic journey in which Marek “Dreadsquad” Bogdański explores new musical territories, combining his roots with his fascination for African jazz. Some might say it’s been seven lean years, but Marek has managed to build a house where his new production and recording studio are successfully operating, and he has traveled halfway around the world, honouring hundreds of events and festivals with his sets.

The concept for the album was born back in 2015 at Prince Fatty’s legendary studio, where Winston “Horseman” Williams, an icon of the British reggae scene, recorded drums, and percussion for several tracks. A lifelong jazz fan, Marek found inspiration in the work of Mulatu Astatke—the father of ethio-jazz—among others, and created his own interpretation of Astatke’s track “Yekermo Sew,” which has been igniting the senses of listeners for the past few months. When you add “Ethiopian Rhythm” in the classic tizita minor (Amharic for nostalgic) musical scale, so characteristic of Ethiopian jazz and local classical music, you begin to understand the essence of this release. The album also features jazz-dub versions of well-known Dreadsquad rhythms, such as “Bun Dem” and “Caravan,” enriched with subtle melodic and instrumental flavours that create a unique sonic mosaic.

The undeniable strength of this album lies in the presence of excellent instrumentalists who are well-versed in jazz and reggae styles. They include Horseman (drums and percussion), Don Fe (flute), Craig Crofton (saxophone), Alex Hazas (saxophone, trumpet, flute), Kubix (guitar), Piotr Zabrodzki (piano), and others. Each of them has contributed a recognizable element, forming the musical house that Marek Bogdański has expertly constructed into a cohesive and habitable whole.

What sets Reggae from the Desert apart from previous Dreadsquad releases is the minimalist approach to vocals—only two words are spoken throughout the album, delivered by Marek himself. This instrumental masterpiece demonstrates that the strength of Dreadsquad’s music lies in its rhythm, atmosphere, and finely crafted details, taking the listener on a fascinating, meditative journey through the sands of the sonic wilderness.
